LearningLynks is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all users, including students, faculty, and administrators.
Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and to continuously improve the accessibility of our platform.

LearningLynks aims to align with:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (as applicable to U.S. institutions)
Accessibility efforts focus on the principles of being Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR).
Measures to Support Accessibility
To support accessibility, LearningLynks has implemented the following measures:
- Use of semantic HTML and logical heading hierarchy
- Structured lists and properly marked data tables
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
- Decorative images marked appropriately
- Sufficient color contrast for text and interface elements
- Visible focus indicators for interactive components
- Keyboard accessibility across navigation and form elements
- Descriptive link text and accessible button labeling
- Accessible forms with associated labels and error identification
- Title attributes for embedded content and iframes
- Non-color indicators within data visualizations
- Plain-language explanations accompanying interactive graphs
Interactive Data Visualizations
LearningLynks includes interactive data visualizations and economic models embedded within course content.
To ensure accessibility:
- Each embedded visualization includes a descriptive title attribute.
- Plain-language instructional text is provided above interactive elements.
- Text summaries accompany visual data to convey equivalent information.
- Visual distinctions (e.g., line styles) are not conveyed by color alone.
We recognize that complex interactive components may require ongoing refinement to maintain full accessibility across assistive technologies.
Evaluation and Testing
Accessibility evaluations are conducted using a combination of automated and manual testing methods, including:
- Google Lighthouse
- WAVE (WebAIM Accessibility Tool)
- Manual keyboard-only navigation testing
- Screen reader spot testing (Voiceover)
- Code inspection and semantic review
Accessibility is reviewed during platform updates and periodically reassessed.
Ongoing Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing process. LearningLynks continues to monitor, evaluate, and enhance accessibility as the platform evolves. Identified issues are prioritized and addressed in accordance with best practices and institutional standards.
